Nail Art Fashion Week 2015: Favorite Fashion Designer

Hi everyone! If you follow me on IG you've probably seen this design by now, but I wanted to share a little bit more about it and about the challenge I joined!

Four amazing and talented ladies created a Fashion inspired nail art challenge: Maria @so_nailicious (Australia), Faustine @faustgil (Paris), Bella @seizethenail (Stockholm) and Victoria @manicurator (New York). The Nail Art Fashion Week consists on a daily theme for a week (March 9-15) and you can join using hastag #NAFW2015. You don't have to do all the prompts, but I heard there are some prizes involved ;). 

Now for today's theme, favorite fashion designer, I chose Marc Jacobs! I really like his style, so fun, unique, often colorful! I got inspired by a dress from the Fall 2012 runway. I wanted to use a recent design but this one caught my eye the moment I saw it! 

The base of this manicure is Up all night by China Glaze. Then I water-spotted with Cadillac Red by Color Club doing multiple layers. For the middle and ring I did a black thick line and placed studs from Born Pretty Store. I applied my regular top coat, but it was so glossy I had to add matte top coat (also from BPS) for better pictures.

I really, really loved the outcome! I might actually film a tutorial for these <3. But for now I gotta get my nails ready for tomorrow. The theme is 'Shoes'. Thank you for your visit!

Shimmer week 3 Day 7: Caroline

Finally, some recent pics! Also this is the last day of the 3rd Shimmer Week. I love making these posts and I love Shimmer. So fear not for I am creating content for Shimmer week 4! It should be up this mont, too <3 Anyways, lets take a look at Caroline!

Por fin, fotos recientes! Y también, hoy es el último dia de la tercera semana Shimmer. Me encanta hacer estos posts y me encanta Shimmer. Así que no teman pues ya estoy preparando el material para la cuarta semana Shimmer! Debería estar arriba para este mes, también <3. En fin, veamos ahora a Caroline!

Caroline is a lightly tinted purple base with loads of purpe and blue microglitters (red too). This is one coat over a purple jelly plus top coat. This is beautiful!!!!

Caroline esta hecho con microglitter morado y azul (un poco de rojo, también) en una base ligeramente tintada de morado. Aquí, una capa sobre un jelly morado mas top coat. Es hermoso!!

Shimmer polish week 3 Day 6: Glass

Hello! When I first saw Glass, I knew it was more than a top coat. In fact, I have never used it as a top coat! The consistency really caught my eye, so I kept it for a special occasion.
Then I received some polishes from Different Dimension and one of the glitters was all clumpy, I guessed some of it evaporated on its long journey. It wasnt "dead" but it was barely wearable.

Hola!! Cuando vi Glass por primera vez supe que era mas que un top coat. De hecho, nunca lo he usado como top coat! La consistencia me llamó mucho la atención, así que lo reservé para alguna ocasión especial.
Luego recibí unos esmaltes de Different Dimension y uno de los glitters venía muy seco, supongo que la base se fue evaporando en su larga travesía. No estaba "muerto" pero apenas se podía utilizar.

Then I was all "hmmm" and "ahhh" as I took my Glass out for a experiment...

Y entonces empecé a caer en la cuenta de que podría usar mi Glass para un experimento... 

... so I poured a bit of Glass into the glitter polish! I mixed very well, and opened it again...

... así que vacié un poquito de Glass en el esmalte de glitter! Lo mezclé muy bien, y lo volví a abrir... 

TA-DAA! The glitter was all good again! I was afraid adding Glass would make less glitter come out in the brush, but that didnt happen at all. It was brand new, it was "alive"!!

TA-RAA! El glitter estaba como nuevo! Tenía miedo de que al agregar Glass, saliera menos glitter en la brocha, pero eso no ocurrió para nada. Estaba nuevo, estaba "vivo"!!

I still have to try Glass as a top coat, but this was a very cool use for it! Thank you for your visit, see you next time!

Shimmer polish week 3 Day 5: Katherine

Hello there! Time to meet another Shimmer. This time is Katherine!

Hola hola! Tiempo de conocer otro shimmer. Esta vez se trata de Katherine!

Katherine is made completely out of tons and tons of gold/copper microglitter, and brown small glitters. Yes another one that provides full coverage yay! <3 This is 2-3 coats with top coat.

Katherine esta hecho enteramente de mucho mucho microglitter dorado/cobre, y glitter café pequeño. Si otro más que nos da cobertura completa! Aquí 2-3 capas con top coat.

Shimmer polish week 3 Day 4: Bella

Meet Bella: A gorgeous grey jelly base filled with tons of red, silver and black microglitter. And yes, opaque on it's own! This is 2 coats only (two!) plus top coat. Bella is one of my favorite Shimmers <3

Conozcan a Bella: Base jelly gris con muchísimo microglitter en rojo, plata y negro. Y si, opaco por si solo! Esto es dos capas (2!) mas top coat. Bella es uno de mis Shimmer favoritos <3




As you can see the surface is really smooth. Even without top coat there are no weird bumps or anything. 

Como pueden ver, la superficie queda realmente lisa. Incluso antes de aplicar top coat, no quedan baches o cosas raras.

Shimmer polish week 3 Day 3: Karina

 I love it when a Shimmer can be worn on its own <3 I mean, most of them can be worn like that, but some of them have a nice strong tinted base that makes me love them even more! This happens with Karina.

Me encanta cuando un Shimmer se puede usar solito <3. Quiero decir, la mayoría de los shimmer alcanzan cobertura completa, pero algunos tienen una base tintada mas fuerte y poderosa que me hace amarlos todavía mas! Ese es el caso de Karina.

 Karina is a red jelly base filled with red, black and holographic glitters, opaque in 2/3 coats. Looove.

Karina es una base jelly roja con glitter rojo, negro y holográfico, opaco en 2/3 capas. Me encanta!

Shimmer polish week 3 Day 2: Jovie

Hi! For the second day of the shimmer polish week, I present you: Jovie! Jovie is a combo of iridescent glitters in different sizes, all swimming in a slightly pink tinted base.

Hola! Para el segundo dia de la Semana Shimmer, les presento a Jovie! Jovie es una combinación de glitters iridiscentes en diferentes tamaños, todos nadando en una base ligeramente rosada.

I would say Jovie is more for layering than for full coverage, but you could still try. Nonetheless is beautiful! I paired it with some loose stars.

Diría que Jovie es mas para poner sobre otro color que para cobertura completa, pero podrían intentar. Sin duda es hermoso, lo combiné con unas estrellitas que tenía por ahí.

Shimmer week 3 Day 1: Alice

Hi everyone! It's been a while since the last Shimmer week and that's awful! I had many pictures ready for it several months ago but for one reason or another I wasn't able to post them, so throughout this week you'll see old pics but also new ones :). For the first day of the third Shimmer week I want to show you how pretty is Alice! 

Hola! Ha pasado algún tiempo desde la ultima Semana Shimmer y eso esta horrible! Tenía muchas fotos listas desde hace meses pero por una o por otra no había podido publicarlas, así que a lo largo de esta semana verán fotos viejitas pero también fotos nuevas :). Para el primer día de la tercer Semana Shimmer les quiero enseñar lo bonito que es Alice!

Alice is a mix of silver and holo silver glitters on a clear base. It can achieve full coverage, but I used it in a glitter gradient for a subtle sparkly look.

Alice es una mezcla de glitters plateados holográficos y no holograficos en varios tamaños, suspendidos en una base transparente. Puede cubrir completamente con algunas capas, pero lo usé en un gradiente de glitter para un look brillante y delicado.

Benefit Puff Off!: review + pics

Hello there! As I've told you before, I also love makeup. I love trying new products, so I was really curious to see what Benefit's Puff Off! could do. 
Puff Off! is an "instant eye gel to help smooth the look of puffies". Basically what it does is to smooth the puffs and lines of the eye. It has the cutest tip: its an iron! <3 

¡Hola! Como ya sabrán también me encanta el maquillaje. Me encanta probar nuevos productos, aspi que tenía mucha curiosidad de ver que podía hacer el Puff Off! de Benefit. 
Puff Off! es un "gel contorno de ojos instantáneo que ayuda a atenuar las bolsas". Dice también que los resultados se ven a corto y largo plazo. Tiene el aplicador mas bonito de la vida: es una planchita! <3

I woke up one day, I saw my eyes were all swollen, and I figured it was a good day to try Puff Off!. The iron tip actually helps a lot. Since its a metal tip it fells cold and refreshing on the skin. It helps distribute the product all over the eye. After applying it, I let it sit for a few minutes, and it feels kinda cold.. like a mint feeling, the skin feels fresh and reinvigorated. I took before and after pics so you can see it by yourself.

Me desperté un día, ví que mis ojos estaban todos hinchados, y pensé que era la oportunidad perfecta para probar Puff Off!. La planchita de hecho ayuda bastante. Como es de metal, se siente fria y refresca la piel. Ayuda a distribuir el producto por todo el contorno de los ojos. Despues de aplicar el gel, lo dejé que actuara un par de minutos, y se sentía algo frío... como una sensación de menta, no se si me explico, pero la piel se siente fresca y revigorizada. Tomé fotos del antes y después para que puedan ver.

As you can see the result is noticeable. My eyes looked bigger and rested!
Then, I got the flu D:. I felt so bad and my skin was awful! I had a lot of lines in my eyes, so I took Puff Off! hoping it could do something for me:

Como pueden ver el resultado es bastante notable. Mis ojos se veían mas grandes y descansados! 
Después me enferme D: me dió gripe, me sentía muy mal, y mi piel se veía horrible! Tenia muchas liniecitas en mis ojos, así que tomé Puff Off! esperando que pudiera ayudarme un poco:

So there it is again. It definitely help as you can see on the lower inner corner of my eye.

L'oréal Color Riche Shades of Grey : Swatches & Review

¡Hola! Hace algunos dias me encontré con la colección Dark Sides of Grey de L'oréal, y no pude resistir! Me parece que la colección llegó a México con 5 tonos (en otros países ha habido algunas diferencias). Les hice unas fotos y les comparto mi opinión:

Hello! A few days ago I stumbled across the Dark sides of Grey collection by L'oréal, and I couldn't resist! Here in Mexico the collection has 5 shades only, and we only get the Color Riche line. I made some swatches and I'll share some thoughts: 

Toda la colección tiene un marcado subtono azul que sale mucho en las fotos. En vivo los colores son mas gris.

The whole collection has a strong blue undertone that's quite visible in pictures, but they're grey-er(?) IRL. 

L'oréal Metallic Cuff / Dark sides of grey

Metalic Cuff: se trata de un gris metálico con subtono azul, mucho más gris IRL. Muy cubriente, pues solo usé una capa para la foto, sin top coat. El color en la foto macro es mas cercano al tono real.

Es curioso, pues aunque muy suave, deja una textura, incluso con una sola capa. // it's a metallic grey with blue undertone. Great coverage, this is one coat only, no top coat. The color on the macro shot is very close to the actual color. It leaves a soft texture, even with one coat only.

L'oréal Masque Lover / Dark sides of grey

Masque lover: Base shimmer azul/gris, con glitters blanco, gris y negro. Opaco en 2 capas, me parecía mucho mas lindo en la botella :/. // Blue/grey shimmery base with white, black and grey glitters. Opaque in 2 coats. 

L'oréal Noir Whisper / Dark sides of grey

Noir Whisper: Gris/Plata texturizado, opaco en 2 capas, sin top coat. La textura no es tan marcada como en otros esmaltes texturizados. // Grey/Silver texture, opaque in 2 coats, shown without top coat. The texture is not as gritty as on other textured polishes. 

L'oreal Noir Whisper / Dark sides of grey

L'oréal Mademoiselle grey / Dark sides of grey

Mademoiselle grey: Un favorito! Gris cremoso con terminado latex: es decir, con un brillo fantástico! Pareciera que se tratara de gel <3. Además la fórmula es un sueño y se aplica como mantequilla!
Opaco en 2 capas, mostrado sin top coat. // A favorite! Creamy grey with latex finish: it dries so shiny! Gel-like! <3. The formula is a dream, it applies like butter! Opaque in 2 coats, shown without top coat. 

L'oréal Aux Chandelles / Dark sides of grey

Aux Chandelles: Mi favorito! Otro gris cremoso, casi blanco, con Wax effect, (semi-mate). Le toma algunas capas para alcanzar opacidad completa (aquí muestro 4 capas delgadas), pero la fórmula se presta para eso, y el resultado es hermoso! Sin duda el que más me gustó de la colección. // My fave!! Another creamy grey, almost white, with wax effect (dries semi-matte). It does take a few layers to achieve full opacity (shown 4 thin coats), but the formula helps with that layering task and the result is gorgeous! I love it!
